Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer vs Smashbox PhotoFinish Foundation Primer

Foundation Primer is the second step in a perfect application of makeup...primer creates a perfect canvas for foundation application. Primers helps to reduce the appearance of lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish.

Smashbox offers an excellent primer, Photofinish Foundation Primer which retalis for about $36 for one ounce. This product is great, super silky, not heavy, gives a great backdrop for your foundation. The only downside is the price, $36 for one ounce...its not caviar!

Palladio, a great cosmetics line that offers all herbal products has an awesome primer, comparable and perhaps just as good as Smashbox. The price is where they drew me in immediately, just $12 for a little less than an ounce. Its reasonably priced and works just as well as the higher priced PF.

Its a no-brainer for me, Palladio has my business hands down...sorry Smashbox but you have been smashed.

My favorite NYX Tube lipsticks!!

NYX, not to called "nicks" rather N. Y. X is a brand that is very popular in the "Drag Scene" and can be seen with frequency on Rupaul's DragU is a great, affordable brand.  I recently got turned on to this brand and I have found them to be awesome!  Great quality without the high price tag.  I am going to run dowm my favorite tube lipsticks:

Circe- This color is almost like a lip eraser, concealer color but with minimun manipulation it is awesome.  It has no shimmer, very creamy and when applied lightly with a gloss it is so pretty and sublime.

Ceto-  A beautiful, neutral color with a coppery undertone.  It has a light pearl shine and gives you the perfect bronzy lip perfect for summer and when you want some warmth on the lips.

Harmonica- This a light pink shade with a slight shimmer.  Dabbed lightly and followed up with lip gloss this will give you the perfect, kissable pout.

Doll- This Rosy pink shade is so flattering on all skin colors.  It gives a perky, pouty lip that will make you look great.  This shade is so nicely pigmented that it is my favorite.

Hebie- A red shade that is very user-friendly.  This is not a blue-red based lipstick rather an orangy-red shade that will still give you that perfect red mouth.  It has a hint of shimmer and perfect for that classic look.

In all NYX lipstick are on my favorites and I use them frequently.  NYX can be found at Ulta stores.

My favorite MAC Shadows

So...we all know that MAC is held in hi-regard within the cosmetic world. Often reffered to as the "best!" I too am a fan but nonetheless I have been dissappointed with some eyeshadows. Finding that some shadows are duplicated in the less pricey drug store brands with a much lower price. Here are my must haves which are worth every pretty penny.

Number 1 shade is Shroom- It is an almost white, lightly frosted shade that is perfect as an accent color on the brow bone and the inner lid. When it catches the light it looks almost frosty, it is not chalky, a beautiful texture.I absolutely love it to give your eye that pop and definition.

Number 2 shade is Sketch- This is a pretty plum shade with a velvet finish. It has a nice shine and a slight glimmer. It is a great crease shade and compliments a brown eye.

Number 3 shade is Carbon- This is a pure matte, rich color in Black. I love this eyeshadow because is straight blalck with no shimmer perfect for the smokey eye and can be used in the crease as well as liner.

Number 4 shade is Cranberry- This shade is a great warm frosted shade in red. Its super pretty used to warm up your eyes applied right above the crease in the outer v section.

As a whole MAC products are great quality accross the board but these are my favorites!!

ELF 100 Eyeshadow Pallet Review

So...ELF also known as Eyes Lips Face has come out with a new pallet. ELF is not a product that I use very often, rarely in fact but when I saw this at Target, I figured for ten bucks it was worth a shot. So after getting it out of the packaging I was surprised to see an array of colors from the lightest champagnes to the most smoldering black. Finishes were varied from Matte to Metallic and seemed to be highly pigmented. It has a nifty mirror which certainly comes in handy and comes with some sponge tip applicators that are toss aways.

After I used the pallet for the first time for a day look I was pleased. I applied a light brown, kind of a smokey eye in brown and toffee. The eyeshadow was not flaky, nicely pigmented and seemed to last without creasing.

Negatively I will have to say that some colors seemed a certain color and when applied were a tad lighter. So a definite dry run is needed before a final application. Some of the shades, like the lighter beiges/whites were a bit dry but not terrible.

Overall i would recommend this palette to the makeup aficionado to add to their collection and to the new artist looking to not spend too much and get a boom for their dollar.
